Terms of Service

Last updated: September 30, 2026

Please read these Terms carefully. They explain your rights and responsibilities when you use CircuitEdge, including how Premium billing works and how disputes are handled.

The short version

  • You must be 13 or older. Under-18s need a parent's permission, and a parent must buy Premium.
  • Premium renews monthly until you cancel. Cancel any time and keep access to the end of the month.
  • Payments aren't refundable, except if we discontinue Premium or the law requires it.
  • Don't cheat the leaderboard, share Premium, or attack the site.
  • Course code examples are free to use in your own projects.
  • Build projects safely. Never work with mains power unless you're qualified.
  • Florida law applies, and we'll always try to resolve problems informally first.

This summary is for convenience. The full text below is what applies.

1. Agreeing to these Terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are an agreement between you and Alfred Navarro, the operator of CircuitEdge ("CircuitEdge", "we", "us"). By using CircuitEdge, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy, which are part of these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the site.

2. Who can use CircuitEdge

You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. If you are between 13 and 18, you may use CircuitEdge only with the permission of a parent or guardian, who agrees to these Terms on your behalf.

Premium must be purchased by an adult. If you are under 18, a parent or guardian must make the purchase and is responsible for all charges.

3. Your account

You create an account by signing in with GitHub or Google. You're responsible for everything that happens under your account, so keep that sign-in account secure. Tell us promptly at alfredrnavarro@gmail.com if you think someone else has used your account.

Accounts are personal. Don't share your account, and don't create multiple accounts to get around these Terms or to boost your leaderboard position.

4. Premium subscriptions and billing

Beginner courses are free. A Premium subscription unlocks every course. The current price is shown on the pricing page, and payments are processed by Stripe.

  • Recurring billing. By subscribing, you authorize us, through Stripe, to charge your payment method the monthly price in advance at the start of each billing period. Your subscription renews automatically every month until you cancel.
  • Failed payments. If a payment fails, Stripe may retry it. If it still can't be collected, your Premium access may be paused or ended until the balance is paid. Keep your payment details up to date using "Manage Subscription".
  • Cancelling. You can cancel at any time using "Manage Subscription" on the pricing page. Cancellation stops future charges, and you keep Premium access until the end of the period you've already paid for.
  • Refunds. Payments are non-refundable, and we don't give refunds or credits for partial months or unused time, except as described in the "Changes to CircuitEdge" section or where required by law. If you think you were charged in error, contact us at alfredrnavarro@gmail.com.
  • Price changes. We may change the price of Premium. We'll notify you at least 30 days before a new price applies to your subscription, and you can cancel before it takes effect.
  • Taxes. Prices may not include sales tax or similar taxes, which will be added where required.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Manipulate XP, quiz results, or the leaderboard, including by submitting results through anything other than the normal site
  • Share Premium access, or copy, resell, or publicly redistribute course content
  • Probe, scan, or test the site for vulnerabilities, or try to access data or accounts that aren't yours
  • Disrupt the site, overload it with automated requests, or scrape it
  • Use a name or profile picture that is offensive, unlawful, or impersonates someone else
  • Use CircuitEdge in any way that breaks the law

If you find a security problem, please report it to alfredrnavarro@gmail.com instead of exploiting it. We appreciate responsible reports.

6. XP and the leaderboard

XP and leaderboard rankings are for fun and motivation only. They have no monetary value and can't be exchanged, transferred, or redeemed for anything. We may adjust XP formulas, reset XP, or remove leaderboard entries, for example to correct errors or respond to cheating.

7. Course content and your license

The courses, text, diagrams, quizzes, and site design are owned by CircuitEdge and protected by copyright and other laws. Subject to these Terms, we give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the courses you have access to for your own learning.

Code examples are yours to use. You may copy, modify, and use the code examples from our courses in your own projects, personal or commercial, without attribution.

8. Feedback

If you send us suggestions, corrections, or ideas, we may use them to improve CircuitEdge without owing you anything for them.

10. Electronics safety

Our projects involve real electronic components, and you are responsible for building them safely. Components can get hot. Batteries can leak, overheat, or catch fire if shorted or misused. Soldering irons and hot glue cause burns.

  • Never connect a project to mains (wall) power unless you are qualified to do so.
  • Follow the manufacturer's instructions and ratings for every part you use.
  • Double-check wiring before applying power, and disconnect power before making changes.
  • Adults should supervise children working with electronics or tools.

Courses are educational and may contain mistakes. Don't rely on them for safety-critical, medical, or life-support uses.

11. Third-party services

CircuitEdge relies on third-party services such as GitHub, Google, Stripe, Supabase, and Cloudflare, and courses may link to outside resources such as datasheets and part suppliers. Those services have their own terms and privacy policies, and we aren't responsible for their content or practices.

12. Changes to CircuitEdge

We're always improving CircuitEdge, so we may add, change, or remove courses and features over time. We may also suspend or stop offering CircuitEdge. If we discontinue Premium while you have a paid subscription, we'll refund the unused portion of your current billing period.

13. Disclaimers

CircuitEdge is provided "as is" and "as available". We work to keep course content accurate, but we don't guarantee that it's complete or error-free, that the site will be available without interruption, or that any project will work in your setup. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

14. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, CircuitEdge will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, or damage to equipment or property, arising from your use of the site or from building any project, even if we were told such damages were possible.

Our total liability for all claims relating to CircuitEdge is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim or $50. Some jurisdictions don't allow these limitations, so they may not all apply to you.

15. Indemnity

You agree to defend and indemnify CircuitEdge against claims, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your misuse of the site or your violation of these Terms.

16. Ending your use of CircuitEdge

You can stop using CircuitEdge at any time and ask us to delete your account, as described in the Privacy Policy. Cancel any Premium subscription first to stop future charges. We may suspend or end your access if you violate these Terms, and we'll tell you why unless the law or a security concern prevents it. The sections on XP, course content, feedback, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnity, disputes, and general terms continue to apply after your access ends.

17. Resolving disputes

Talk to us first. Most problems can be solved quickly. Before starting any legal claim, email alfredrnavarro@gmail.com describing the issue and what you'd like us to do. We'll both try in good faith to resolve it within 30 days.

Governing law and courts. These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute that isn't resolved informally will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Florida, and you and CircuitEdge consent to their jurisdiction. Either of us may instead bring an individual claim in small claims court if it qualifies.

18. General terms

  • Entire agreement. These Terms, with the Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy, are the whole agreement between you and CircuitEdge about the site.
  • Severability. If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect.
  • No waiver. If we don't enforce a provision right away, we haven't given up the right to enforce it later.
  • Assignment. You can't transfer your rights under these Terms. We may transfer ours, for example if CircuitEdge is sold, and these Terms will continue to protect you.
  • Events beyond our control. We aren't responsible for delays or failures caused by events outside our reasonable control, such as outages at our service providers.
  • Notices. We may send notices to the email address on your account or post them on the site. You can send notices to alfredrnavarro@gmail.com.

19. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. We'll always change the "Last updated" date at the top, and for significant changes we'll notify you on the site or by email at least 14 days before they take effect. If you keep using CircuitEdge after the changes take effect, you accept the updated Terms. If you don't agree, stop using the site and cancel any subscription.
